Hello and welcome to my website. I’m Chris Curtis, a Freelance 3D Artist, Designer and Animator with over 25 years professional experience, and over 14 years as a freelancer.
I specialise in high quality Modelling, Sculpting, Texturing and Rendering. I can create realistic hard-edged or organic models of just about anything, in just about any style. Whether it's for Print, a Realtime Engine, a Motion Graphics video, a 3D Print or a polished Visual. I am also a dab hand at bringing them to life with some Animation, and can add some flare to them in After Effects too.
During my professional career, I have had the opportunity to work with many prestigious companies. Including top ATL Advertising, Marketing, Branding, Experiential, Events, Point-Of-Sale, Retail, Medical, Sports broadcast and Theatre agencies. I have also worked on a multitude of well known brands.

I was approached by Westfield Shopping Centre to create some simple promotional videos for their upcoming music event to appear in-centre and on Escalator panels on the London underground. Modelled and animated in Cinema 4D. 2D animation and post work in After Effects.

Some years back, Pixologic, the creators of ZBrush, held a competition titled "Action Hero". Which involved creating a unique action or super hero using their software. I decided to rework my entry for that competition and this was the result. My original concept was inspired by frogs and toads that secrete poison from glands in their skin. So I decided I wanted to create a villain that secretes nitric acid from her skin. Modelled in Maya and sculpted in ZBrush. Textures created in Zbrush and Photoshop.

I was approached to make a model of Cryoport's new shipping container to feature as an interactive piece on the Cryoport Website. Low poly model created, rendered and animated in Cinema 4D. Textures created in Substance Painter and Photoshop.

I was asked to create the logo for the well-known theatre magic show. Modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D. Textures created in Photoshop. Composited in Photoshop.
I was approached to make a collection of models for an online breast augmentation visualiser. The request was for a 360º animation of each model, with 6 different breast sizes, 6 different body shapes and 6 different skin tones (over 200 variations!). However, I knew this was easily achievable using ZBrush's layer system to create the body shapes and breast sizes. Then exported them to Cinema 4D to use set up a single model that used the variations as morph targets/blendshapes. The base model, animation and rendering was done in Cinema 4D. All sculpting and blendshapes created in ZBrush.
I was asked to make an anatomical model of the legs and arms for use as an interactive guide on the Botox website to help post-stroke patients. Modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D. Textures created in Photoshop.
A friend had some drone footage and asked me to do something fun with it. This was the result. The shot was tracked in SynthEyes. Tracking data was taken into Maya where I added, lit and rendered the animated, oversized goat. Compositing was done in After Effects.
I was asked to design some 3D visuals for a TV card game show. The losers are dropped into "The Cauldron". Modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D. Textures created in Photoshop.
A visual created for a client to show a Moët Christmas event at Claridges Hotel, London. I matched the camera perspective to the photograph in Cinema 4D so I could model and add in the Moët branded elements. Then retouched out any unnecessary elements in the photo and composited it all together in Photoshop.
I was asked to create a visual showing the Infiniti Racing Car next to the Infiniti Q50. Perspective and lighting matched using Cinema 4D. Compositing done in Photoshop.
